A female empowerment initiative launched by a small group of women at Laing+Simmons has led to professional development, boosted confidence, and driven measurable career and business growth.
Laing+Simmons’ female empowerment initiative, She Sells, has been driving results across the network by encouraging women to grow their careers through relationship strengthening.
She Sells started in 2024 as an informal idea-sharing group, later evolving into a network for women to learn, challenge themselves, and find support, boosting their confidence.
According to the network, the group has grown over the past year, offering new ways to build connections, lift accountability, and deliver meaningful business outcomes for women.
The members have been holding regular online catch-ups to keep connected and celebrate their wins, while quarterly in-person sessions have provided practical insights and leadership lessons.
To help broaden perspectives and support ongoing development, She Sells has also provided monthly resources, including podcast suggestions and reading recommendations.
“Importantly, monthly KPI tracking gives the group a structured way to measure progress and maintain focus on their goals,” the network said.
This year, the group held a retreat in the Hunter Valley, delving into resilience, reinvention and navigating pivotal career transitions.
Laing+Simmons head of network performance, Angela Avgerinos, said the trust, collaboration and accountability formed within the group of women have been translating into real, measurable improvements.
However, she said the most important part of the initiative was the connections formed, with women able to open up about their challenges, share what’s working, and lift one another up.
“That supportive, judgement-free environment is what makes She Sells so powerful and what will continue to fuel its impact as the group grows,” she said.
Laing+Simmons CEO Leanne Pilkington said the momentum behind She Sells was turning support and shared experiences into meaningful results.
“She Sells isn’t just a program; it’s a movement, and it’s becoming a defining part of who we are as a network,” Pilkington concluded.
